Our Burns’ Night Ceilidh dance took place on Friday 27th January 2023 with 93 for dinner. We anticipate holding next year’s on Friday 26th January 2024. Arrival is likely to be from 6.30pm for prompt start at 7pm. We have planned a night of music, Scottish Country Dancing, a glass of wine or beer, and traditional Scottish food in the manner that Robbie Burns declared more than 200 years ago. We have indeed found a suitable kitchen at the Leonardo Royal Hotel Promenade The Hague for our Burns’ Night Ceilidh, also the scene of our Balls for well over a decade at Van Stolkweg 1, 2585 JL Den Haag. Maybe there again next year!!
Regardless of any current high/low level of Covid transmission it is in all our interests for members and guests to self-test shortly before attending Reel Club or an event such as this Ceilidh. We request that all dancers take a Covid self test within 36 hours before coming to the hotel. It is in the interest of all of us. No-one deserves a nasty present a few days after a joyful and happy evening.
The dances we do may not be familiar to you, but don’t worry – we have a “caller” – that’s what we Scots call the dance teacher who walks and talks us through each dance before we do it.
The Ceilidh ticket price was €55 per person. For more information, or to book your ticket(s) please contact Marion via our contact us page. Your place will be confirmed by Ian once we receive the money for the tickets into our bank account with its IBAN below. Please ensure that your payment is promptly received into our bank account as instructed by Marion or Ian. The reason is simple – many of our recent events have reached capacity.
