Our annual Ball includes a formal dinner with dancing and a raffle to raise money for charity.  Information about recent charity beneficiaries can be found here.

You will all be aware of the recent Covid-ruling which came into effect last Saturday and its likely consequences for our Ball planned this month 27 November.  However, in consultation with the hotel management we have come up with a plan to still hold the ball on the same day but at an earlier time-slot of 11.30 to 18.00hrs.

Here is the alternative plan:-  The hotel management suggest The Ball be held from 11.30 – 18.00 as an afternoon event (11.30 hrs arrival and QR code check), starting with the traditional ceremonies then including a luxurious 3-course  lunch, Haggis, neeps and tatties,  wine, water, soft drinks and whisky. This will then be followed by a wee concert of the McVities  and a lot of dancing courtesy of Margaret and her Ceilidh Band and closing with “Auld Lang Syne’’  sung together…and all within the government guidelines!

Please inform us IMMEDIATELY if you  wish to attend.  If response to this ‘new ball time’ is sparse we will have to know before midnight Wednesday 15 November to allow eventual cancellation. We will of course contact those on our waiting-list should replies arrive late to give us every possible chance of holding the event.

So please check your afternoon arrangements and hopefully you will be able to join us and enjoy the St Andrew’s ceremony, music, good food, a glass of wine and a lot of dances.

This year the Ball will be held a couple of days before St Andrew’s Day (30 Nov) on Saturday 27th November 2021 at the Leonardo Royal Hotel Den Haag Promenade (previously called Crowne Plaza) on Van Stolkweg,  2585JL Den Haag.

The ticket price remains at €99 and includes a three course dinner, drinks before and during dinner and of course a wonderful ceilidh.  Please join us for pre-dinner drinks from 11.30hrs and we will start dinner around 12.00hrs. “Carriages can be ordered for 18.00hrs.”.

Guests are encouraged to “dress to impress” and kilts are always welcome.

Please note that your coronapass will be checked on the door, and to ensure that our most vulnerable members can safely attend, we also require that even vaccinated guests do a self-test prior to attending.

For more information please contact Marion via our contact page.

Your place will be confirmed by Ian once we receive the money for the tickets into our bank account with IBAN below.  Please ensure that your payment is promptly received into our bank account as instructed by Marion or Ian.  The reason is simple – many of our recent events have reached capacity.
